Watermark on NJ State Return

I went to efile 2021 Federal and NJ State return.  Efile was rejected because they could not confirm  AGI from last year.  Not my fault , IRS has not processed my mail in tax form from last year (its been almost a year).  Both Fed and state rejected due to this.  Watermark appears  on NJ form.  The submitted form according to Turbotax is available.  Please give me guidance on what to do next.

I believe that you'll be allowed to e-file using 0 for your 2020 AGI.  You may want to try that.

However, TurboTax is experiencing delays regarding state forms.  This is a TurboTax issue, and is under investigation.  I'll do my best to get back with you when this issue has been resolved.  So sorry for the inconvenience.

That said, you may wish to wait a bit before attempting to e-file both returns together.  If you decide to go ahead and e-file your federal return, you can skip the state return and e-file that later.  Just know that you'll have to wait until your federal return has been accepted before filing your federal return.

Can I file my federal taxes now and skip my state for later?

Thanks for contacting me.  I tried placing a "0" in for AGI but that did not work.  I spoke to someone at TurboTax yesterday, they claim it is waiting for the IRS to approve some state forms.  They said I will be notified when it is available.
