The Montana state return is missing all the pages, including key schedules after page 4 (the return if you download it from Montana has 12 pages). If you need to file as a part-year or non-resident, it cannot be done correctly since it is missing schedule IV (which is somewhere around page 8). I am not sure what else it is missing (the other missing schedules). Since you can't delete a State return once you have paid for it, it will then proceed to calculate all your income as if it should be taxed in Montana which in turn will mess up any other states you have to file. So now, I am stuck doing my Montana and Colorado returns by hand.

I am able to prepare a part-year Colorado part-year state tax return and a part-year Montana state tax return. I am able to view the state tax returns as well as the Federal 1040 tax return.
Page 8 is Form 2 Montana Tax Liability Schedule Nonresident / Part Year Resident Tax which computes the Montana state tax for the Montana portion of the taxpayer's income.
What error message are you receiving when you try to print the missing pages? Please advise.
That's the problem- there is no error code. The software is treating the return as if it only has 4 pages and thus, is simply preparing the return as if there are no other pages. The remaining 8 pages simply do not exist. I then went to the Montana web site to see how one prepares a return if one is a non-residence. I compared what TT has in its program to what the actual return on the MT tax website says is the official return and discovered that TT has an incomplete return. So, TT taxes 100 percent of income as MT income, even though most of the income should be taxed in home state of CO. This is because the nonresident portion of the return is missing on TT.
This then creates a problem for my CO return since it too is being incorrectly prepared b/c MT is incorrectly getting all our tax money. Since TT does not let me delete the return, I am going to be forced to file both returns by hand- despite paying for both CO and MT returns.
FYI, I spent an hour with a TT representative who concurred with my assessment that the MT return was in fact missing 8 pages on the TT software. She reported it to the tech people about a week ago. I am hoping that this problem will be fixed so I can file my taxes in MT and CO correctly. I am going to check back next week to see if the missing pages are included.
It would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2022" data file for the return that is experiencing this issue. We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing, so we can determine what exactly is happening in your return and provide you with a resolution.
This is a Nonresident/Part-Year Resident Schedule Montana return? And a Resident Colorado return?
And you are using the Desktop/Download version of TurboTax? Or Online?
You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions for TurboTax Online:
Go to the dark panel on the left side of your program and select Tax Tools.
If you are using TurboTax Desktop, these are the instructions:
