I'm trying to enter my Virginia 529 contributions for 2022 into the deductions section and it is asking for the account number. I enter it but because the account number contains letters it will not allow me to enter that. I have confirmed with both American Funds and my broker that the account number contains letters. Do I have to include the letters or should I just include the numbers? Does the VA dept. of taxation look into this? There is no tax reporting done by my brokerage. Only if I have a withdrawal. Account number for one account is ###XX### and ####X### for the second account. Where X= a letter and #= a number. I am able to basically put in any number but the account is through my brokerage not College America.

No. You can leave the account number box empty/blank. Be sure to backspace/delete to empty the box. The account number is not reported on your VA tax return and does not affect the calculation of your deduction.
Thank you for this workaround. However, TurboTax should fix this obvious bug. I spent quite a bit of time time first to try to find a way to enter alpha numeric account number into TurboTax and then trying to find where I could log the problem with TurboTax until I came across your reply.
How can I log the bug with TurboTax to put it into the queue if not for this then for the next year?
