VA Mortgage points add to mortgage interest in turbo tax if paid points on Federal return

In turbo tax in the VA return, there is no field to enter mortgage points.  The tax support person informed me to not add the points paid to the mortgage interest and this is incorrect information. On the VA Schedule for line 8a YOU ADD THE MORTGAGE INTEREST AND THE POINTS IF YOU PAID POINTS.  

Now I have to file an amendment once the return is accepted/rejected as I took the advise of the support person and transmitted the return!

Lesson learned Always talk to a tax advisor!
