We moved to AZ from GA on August 2018. Turbo tax has calculated AZ source income for me which is higher than the sum of both the GA and AZ. what is wrong? how to fix?

In order to prepare your two State Tax Returns accurately, you need to indicate in the "My Info" section the details about where you lived in 2018.

To do so, follow these steps:

• Open your return
• Click the "My Info" tab in TurboTax Online (left side of screen) or "Personal Info" tab in TurboTax Desktop
• Click "Edit" next to your name 
• For question #2, answer "Yes" that you lived in another State in 2018 and choose AZ from the drop-down menu
• Enter the date of your move
• Scroll down and click "Continue"

After you have completed your Federal Return, you need to walk through the preparation of your State Returns by click "State" from the left side of your screen.  Walk through the preparation of your AZ return first and then GA.

thanks. my info is correctly entered. I have done completed the GA tax and now that I moved to finish up the AZ tax, my source of income is crazy high which is higher than the sum of both states. does it have something to do with out of state income? I didn't enter out of state income assuming that it means if I had income from other states while living in AZ

You won't have any out of state income if you only earned AZ source income when you lived in AZ and GA source income when you lived in GA.

got it. thanks. I think I found the source of problem but I do not know how to fix. Im in the process of AZ which I am filing after the GA. Turbo tax asks me to put AZ amount of income from the shown Federal income. However the federal income is shown as 0 next to the filed that I have to fill. I have put W2 information correctly, so not sure what is going on. So you think I had to file AZ first? could it be the problem?

That could be the issue.  Try walking through the State preparation again, starting with the AZ return.  If you have the option, you can delete both of the State returns first to start fresh.  You may not need to fill anything in for the "AZ" amount of income, it should pull from your W2.

I deleted and restarted AZ kept GA for now. Under AZ tax payments, it complains that I have not entered the AZ estimated tax payments in my federal return. what is AZ estimated tax payments? Is it the withholding?

No, estimated payments aren't withholding, they are payments you made directly to AZ.
