What is my status? The website say there is 3 stages, I'm still in stage 1 but I filed almost 8 weeks ago and I have not received a letter or anything about an offset.

Only the IRS can answer why your refund status hasn't yet been approved.  Typically, you wouldn't receive a letter regarding an offset until after your refund has been issued.

 

There are several possibilities explaining why your refund is delayed.  The TurboTax FAQ below helps explain some of them.  If you still need information, you can contact the IRS by phone at 1-800-829-1040.
