State Tax

If we own a NY State muni bond and get interest income from the NY muni bond, and I am NOT a resident of NY, do I need to file income taxes for NY State ?

State Tax

No, the New York (NY) state municipal bond interest would not be taxable to NY.  You do report this interest on your own resident state tax return and it will be taxable if your state has an income tax return.
