sale of primary home from prior state of residence

I'm trying to figure out how (and whether) to file a tax return with Arizona for the sale of my primary residence.

I'm currently a resident of Nevada, having moved here February 2020. The home in Arizona was my primary residence between December 2017 and February 2020. It was sold in May 2021 (and was not used for any business purposes or rented at any point).

I've not sold a primary residence before, so based on that timing, I believe I can be exempt for up to $250k in gains on the sale, both for Arizona and Federal (gains were under $100k, so well below the $250k).

Do I need to file a return with Arizona to report this sale, and if so, where/how do I enter it?

Q. Do I need to file a return with Arizona to report this sale?

A. No. AZ follows the federal home sale exclusion rule.  Since you have no reportable AZ income, you do not need to file an AZ return.
