If the amount on Line 20a, which should not include your military pension, kicks your NJ taxable income over $100,000,
you don't get any retirement income exclusion at all.
I am a male just turned 77 in March retired from USN in 1985 What I've been saying is that there is no entries on either line 28a or 28b. Line 28a should be showing an exclusion of $32146. and is dose not. Because of this I am losing a bigger refund if I go with TURBO Program as it stands mow.
Yes I have heard what you are saying many times.
Have you heard what I'm saying ?
Check your birthdays in the Personal Info section.
Besides the conditions I mentioned above, there's no other reason not to get the pension exclusion.
maybe you can find a TurboTax Customer Support person who will assist you to solve the mystery.

I believe you just hit the nail on the head. We did go over $100,000. this year after all our deductions. Thank you. Guess I will have to go into full retirement in order to beat system.
BUT
your military pension is not taxable and should be subtracted out of not appear in Line 20a.
I rechecked my 1099R and potion of the amount shown in 20a comes a non-Military retirement and my 401 RDA. Between my wife & I we made $4000. Plus more than last years income putting us over the NJ $100,000. threshold. Thanks again for all your assistance.
