Residency

I arrived in CA a few weeks before registering my cars and getting my CA drivers license.  Am I considered a CA resident on the date I registered my cars and got my drivers license?

Residency

You became a resident when you arrived with the intent to stay, rather than the day you handled the paperwork. California considers you a resident based on your physical presence and if your move was permanent. While registering your car and getting a license are proof that helps establish you were a resident, the delay did not render you a nonresident before completion. See: Am I a resident?
