I have done renters rebate for Vermont State for 13 years now. This year the software says renters rebate should be $1307. However I completed the whole process and it shows I owe nothing or receive nothing. I've always have received a refund, is there a flaw with the software for the state of Vermont?

We do not know of a problem with the renters rebate in Vermont. However, since we in the Community cannot see your tax return, we would ask you to dig up your 2018 return and compare the 2018 and 2019 Vermont returns line by line until you see a major difference.
I am having the same issue. After I completed the renters rebate portion it says the amount but did not add it to my state refund total. I went ahead and filed anyway. When I printed my state tax return it does include my renter rebate amount so I am hoping for the best. I will update when I know more. Please do the same.
I did as you requested and found that the IN-112 form had a Line#2 under Section II in 2018 which asked for the Renter Rebate amount.
The IN-112 form in 2019 did not have a line#2 under Section II to enter the Renters Rebate!
The renters rebate amount does not transfer to your VT income tax return. The rebate forms are filed with the return, but the amount of rebate is returned separately.
