I filed 4 K-1's LLC on my Federal return using TT Deluxe with no problem. When I went to do my Pennsylvania return all the K-1's were transferred over properly, when I did the review I received 1 error and it was as follows "Federal Schedules K-1 cannot be used to prepare electronically filed returns (unless it is a publicly traded partnership) these rules are set by the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue.
I have always filed PA and Federal electronically and never had an issue. Did something change in 2019 to have me printout my PA return and mail in? Thanks.

Yes, Pennsylvania made a number of changes to their tax laws for 2019. Many of the states made changes and the business returns need to be printed for 2019.
Yes, when you select to file by mail, TurboTax is programmed to print everything that needs to be submitted by mail.
You will also get an instruction sheet telling you what, if any, additional information needs to be attached to the mailed return. A good example would be copies of your W-2s. The instruction sheet will also give you the address for mailing the return. Don't forget to sign it before mailing.

Do you happen to know if TT will print out all paper work that needs to be submitted to the state of Pennsylvania along with the RK 1. Thanks

I found this information under PA 40 Tax return instructions which talks about electronic filing with federal K-1.
Federal Schedules K-1 cannot be
used to prepare electronically filed returns as they cannot be
electronically submitted to the department. However, if the software
product being used supports the attachment of PDF files and the income
reported on the federal Schedule K-1 is converted to and reported by PA
classification rules, a federal Schedule K-1 can be used to prepare
electronically filed returns if the schedule and supporting statements are
included with the PDF attachment feature.
Can Turbo Tax support this function and if so how does one use it to have Pennsylvania accept Federal K-1 so I can file electronically, thanks
P
I have the same issue; it seems Pennsylvania state allows K-1 PDF upload.
This was a response I received last year and I used it this year and it worked.
I went into Forms, PA return and chose RK-1 Partnership Worksheet. Right below the address is the Question "Is this information from a Pennsylvania RK-1/NRK-1 (not a Federal K-1). The form said N but I went into the dropdown box and changed it to Y.
When I did that, I ran Review again and now it is allowing me to file PA electronically.
I believe that would fix it, but in my case this is only a (federal, generic) K-1. It isn't a special PA partnership return, so answering "Y" in that box isn't reflecting the reality of the situation.
Great tip, thanks! I had the same problem and your suggestion took care of it...
