I have to pay $818 to the state tax, and i filed it on may 9th, it is still currently pending and i have the money, they just need to take it from my bank account, so my question is, if it is still pending after the 17th will i be in trouble, even tho i did the work b4 the due date?

If you are having an issue with the state tax return processing, contact customer service. Most states do have a grace period to allow for situations such as this, but understandably you wish an answer. What should happen is that once the return is accepted, the payment will process as soon as possible. If processed timely (including grace period to resolve a reject, for example), the payment will also be considered timely provided it pulls.
Thank you, it is still pending, it hasnt been accepted yet and it has been a week, i just wanna make sure i dont get in trouble for it still pending possibly after the due date. Even thought ive done the work.
If your return is pending, you should be fine. Your submitted e-filed return doesn't need to be accepted on May 17 for it to be considered on-time. As long as you transmitted your return by 11:59 p.m. local time on May 17 you should be fine.
If your return is rejected on May 17 you'll have through May 22 to re-submit your federal return by e-file, or mail your return.
As long as you transmit your return before midnight, May 17, your return is considered timely filed even if it takes a few days to get accepted.
The Electronic Postmark is a timestamp of when your return was transmitted. Here's how to print out a hard copy for your records:
What if I e-filed before May 17, but my return got rejected after the deadline?
