You would allocate your income to the state in which you lived for the income earned while living there.
Reciprocal means the state in which you live receives the tax for that income.

thanks for the reply. But the field asks for the amount in the state where I live outside of DC. So should I put VA income in 2021 in that field then?
Where did you work? Did your work in D.C. all year? Or did you change jobs and work in Virginia when you moved?
The part-year D.C. return starts will federal income which includes all your income for the entire year. You only pay tax on the amount you earned while a D.C. resident so subtract income received after you moved out of D.C.
Someone would need to look at your W-2 to answer your question. You have not provided enough information.
Hi I work remotely due to Covid, office is located in DC. So W2 has both VA and DC taxes as when I moved to VA, I notified my employer to update that information. And I didn't change my job
