Part-Year Resident - Carryover Loss (move from CA to WA)

TurboTax is asking me to fill in Schedule D worksheet.

Specifically, Column B is asking for "amounts earned or received from CA sources as if you were a nonresident for the entire year".

What does this mean and how do I figure out what this value is?

See Change of Residency from California (move out) in Section H, "Capital Gains and Losses", in this CA tax reference:

https://www.ftb.ca.gov/forms/misc/1100.html#section-g

Thanks!

The example uses property sales as an example.

So is this about the sales of california property that could result in a gain or loss, only?

Section H applies to "Capital Gains and Losses", whether they be from investments or real estate.
