Owe state of CA

I owe the state of CA for An overpayment however I am in a payment plan to pay it off, will they still take my CA refund this year to cover it?

You may wish to contact the California State Franchise Tax Board to determine anew payment plan.

Unless they've changed from a few years ago, I can almost guarantee they'll take any "refund" you have. As would the Federal govt.

Usually a refund will be taken to pay off debt.
