Tax Year Prior to 2020: NY state refund may need further review

I filed through JH and still had this happen to me they may have released my state return but i also didn’t receive the stimulus money and had to go and enter my banking info

I did my NYS taxes on Feb 13th,,, I got an email saying it was accepted.  when I called the lady said it was accepted on th 18th.  Now it says it's processed but may need review.

Same here - they accepted my return on 2/16 and when I go to track my refund, it says it's still under review

Mine was received on Feb 6th, accepted the Feb 15 and went to “received your return and it may require further review” 5 days later. That’s where it’s been since. No letter, no message on the online account. Signed up for email updates from NYS and never received any but from TT to inform its been accepted. I guess I’ll try to call again tomorrow. After that it’s a call to my State Senator. This is ridiculous. I can see taking a month or a little more to process but considering you get toss back in the processing pile and made to wait more is ridiculous, getting no information on a straight forward simple return is inexcusable.  I’ll update if there is any change or info.

I e-filed mine Feb.17th and mine says the same dam thing. It's basically Ny taking it's sweet time processing money into American hands during a World epidemic. Sounds about right, I just happy we are the 16th so I will happily wait actually...

I don’t even know if I am being audited. It has been on may need further review for two months now. I have calling and keeping with state rep. I am not the only one calling. I wish anyone in the same situation does the same thing. I know people who filed by mail and not simple returns that are being processed. We aren’t even being processed.

I received my federal within 2 weeks and I still have not received my New York state refund and they received my information by e-filing and they got it February 13th

Mine said the same thing-I went to the NYS Taxation site and registered for an account (it was easy). There was a section that stated they had sent me a letter (that I hadn't received yet) and they needed to verify my W2.  I was able to scan it that day and it was confirmed received (still havent received their letter). In the section where I saw the letter, it stated that the letter could take up to two weeks to be received.   I filed and taxes were accepted on March 18th and I haven't received refunds from NYS or Fed. Is this the general status notice or is it a  notice that there is a  problem with my tax return. Please advise

Since this is the same information that has been provided  about the status of my  2021 tax  since February 3rd  and  I  still have not received a letter or email notice  as of this current date  I totally agree because it ihas been extremely frustrating waiting for  Department of Taxation to notified me about this issue or  to change the status of my tax return.
