I input my CSA 1099-R and indicate my NJ Gross Distribution in the appropriate box in Turbo Tax (which is higher than the Federal taxable amount) and the higher number does not flow to my NJ tax return. Turbo Tax carries the Fed Tax amount instead of the amount indicated in the Nj Gross Distribution box (equals Gross Distribution indicated in Box 1). How do I fix this so that the higher Gross Distribution number is indicated as my pension amount for NJ return and not the Federal amount indicated in Box 2 of the CSA 1099-R?

The NJ tax is auto populated from the data input in the Fed Tax questionnaire. I put the correct amount in the box asking for the NJ gross distribution and it doesn’t flow to the NJ tax side. Is there a way to change the number within the NJ tax side that I can’t seem to find?

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.
If only the horse would take the number I indicate as the NJ gross distribution and put it in the pension line on the NJ tax. Maybe the horse will see my question and fix the software or tell me how to adjust it in the NJ software side ( which doesn’t have any boxes for entry on wages and pensions)
