You most likely have NY forms that can't be e-filed. If that is the case, TurboTax does not support e-filing for your return. You are exempt from the mandatory e-filing requirement. You're required to electronically file your return only if you meet all three of the following conditions:
Since you don't meet condition #2, you can mail your return.
As of April of 2012, the New York Department of Taxation removed the formerly-imposed $25 penalty for filing by mail.
Here is the address and mailing instructions for New York state tax returns:
You must include the following on your envelope:
If you are NOT including a payment, mail your return to:
STATE PROCESSING CENTER
PO BOX 61000
ALBANY NY 12261-0001
If you ARE including a payment (check or money order), mail your return (including Form IT-201-V) to:
STATE PROCESSING CENTER
PO BOX 15555
ALBANY NY 12212-5555
Include copies of any documents that report NY withholdings or NY earned income.

Did you get any resolution on this? I've been trying to resolve it it for over two weeks already. Very frustrating!
There was a link somewhere that allowed us to manually download the Turbotax form, but the link was broken. I've tried everything known to man to fix this to no avail.

HelenC12,
I went to the NY forms that can't be filed link you posted and saw that form IT-2 is not supported for e-filing BUT is that true even if I meet ALL of the e-filing requirements? Do I still have to physically mail in my NYS tax return because of an information page? Please advise.
Thanks.
Yes, you have to mail in your tax return because IT-W, Summary of W-2 Statements can't be e-filed.
I certainly am. Just read a reply from someone on a different question (but on the same topic) and they said that basically if you prep your taxes with a professional, they MUST e-file, but TT won't allow you so you should be able to print all the nec forms and mail them. I felt very overwhelmed, but having read that just a few mins ago, I feel much better now. I'll mail the forms this week.
Facing a similar issue where I'm continually asked to check my entry regarding the Form 8915-e. The federal part is fine
having similar problem this year. Using turbotax online and it says it needs an update... any one else?
I am sure there are others with NY e-filing issues. We are experiencing some issues that we are working on with NY tax returns. Since you have not desribed you particular issue I can not specifically address your issue. However, we do not have any dates of fixes so you will have to check back to see if e-file is available.
