I tried calling the TURBOTAX phone# yesterday to receive guidance, but the RECORDING would not allow me to talk to a PERSON. The RECORDING stated that we customers HAVE to go to turbotax.com/support for guidance/assistance. I posted a query at 9:30 this morning, which is almost six hours ago. Just how long does it take to obtain an answer?????????//

Wow. SO,TURBOTAX "offers support," but the support is dependent upon knowledgeable folks who happen to review these posted questions???????????????? Seriously?? I tried calling the TURBOTAX phone# but their recording states unequivocally to go to turbotax.com/support. What other avenue do I have??????????

To get customer support, you need to try them during normal business hours--Monday-Friday 5 a.m to 5 p.m. Pacific time and you have to be using a paid version of the software--phone support is not provided for the Free Edition.
You expressed a thought about submitting your federal return via e-file and doing your state return separately. You have missed the October 15 deadline to e-file even your federal return. It has to be printed, signed and mailed now. Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2018 are permanently closed.

Good luck. Their customer support is garbage. I've been trying to get an issue resolved for a month now.
