How do I file an extension for MA State taxes?

Due to Turbo Trash incorrectly flagging issues in the Schedule D form, and then not fulfilling their promises to release an update that would fix the issue, I cannot file my return. 

I read that if you don't owe taxes or if you are owed a refund, that you will automatically be granted a 6 month extension. Is that true? Is there anyway I can confirm this?

According to the TurboTax help article below, Massachusetts does grant an automatic extension to file if you do not owe any tax or pay 80% of your tax due by April 18.
