There seems to be a problem with the MN Schedule M1SLC: TP form this year. On the form Line 5 states that if the value is negative or zero, the form should not be filled out further. TurboTax is requiring a value for Line 7 and will not let me finalize my taxes even though my value for Line 5 is negative. I believe this is a glitch and I wanted to bring it to the developer's attention without paying for the help line as I think it is a flaw in the product and not an error of my own.

I am having the same problem yet I do not see a fix from the support desk
The answer is - if you have a negative number on line 5 there are no more fields to fill. Thus you do not qualify for the credit. Therefore you need to go back in Turbo Tax to where you enter in information relating to the Student Loan information and delete the amount of principal and interest payments for the year and this will eliminate the use of this form.
