I've e-filed my federal returns using TurboTax Deluxe + State and I want to save $40 by filing my Massachusetts State return by mail. I've printed it out the PDF version but the first page only gives the instructions for Electronic Filing. Are the instructions for filing by mail the same?
And is the "no signature form is required since you signed your return electronically" (stated on the same first page) upheld for paper filing?

If you are mailing in your state return you need to take out a pen and actually sign and date the tax form before you mail it in.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Thank you for the reminder(s).
I'm still stuck as I can't find where I need to sign on the return.
Can any one tell me where I need to sign before mailing it in?
I just found where the signature goes: in the tiny space right above my email address on the first page (of Form 1-NR/PY). It would be very helpful if the signature space is made more obvious in future versions to save me from hunting through all the rest of the tiny text in my 22-pg tax return.
What state return are you needing to sign? All states have the signature block in different areas. Post the state return you need to sign for additional assistance.
