Why do I have to pay to download the state tax form now.   Before you got 1 state download free with the purchase of turbotax?

Are you using Deluxe?   And did you buy it somewhere other than directly from TurboTax?   If so, be aware that Deluxe comes in 2 versions--one with an included state program download, and one that is Federal-only with no state program.  

If you DID buy the combo version that has both Federal and a state program download, but the state program is still asking you to pay anyway, we can tell you how to phone TurboTax Support.

If you bought the desktop version of Deluxe directly from TurboTax it includes 1 state program download at no extra charge.   If you are using Online Deluxe, there is a separate fee for the state return.    Did you buy the desktop product, but ended up using Online TurboTax by mistake? (yes, it happens)

How do I correct it if that is what I did.  I used the code that was emailed to me to download file.   How do I get in touch with someone to help me.

It's not particularly clear (at least to me) what you did.  

What does your typical screen look like when preparing your return?   Is your navigation menu vertical in a left menu column (Online TurboTax) or is it horizontal across the top of the screen (desktop version)?

  If you paid for desktop software but used Online TurboTax (web browser version) by mistake, we can tell you in this forum how to download the *.tax2024 data file to your computer and then open and finish it in the desktop software without starting over.

Thank you for your help.  I found that I did this.  I purchase this year from Walmart and I guess I did not read the information correctly.   Thank you again    Now to figure out how to correct my mistake.

If you did start in Online TurboTax and want to move to the desktop software, see this:

I supposed it's possibl that if you want to stay in the Online product, you could phone TurboTax Support and see if they will give you a service code to enter to pay the state return fee.
