CA Form 568 can't fill in line 5: Nonconsenting member's tax liability from Schedule T

Mac TT Home and Biz version

I am a SMLLC that is a disregarded entity and I can't fill in line 5: Nonconsenting member's tax liability from Schedule T. I can't type anything in and there is there is no schedule T on the TT version of CA 568! I've looked at Form 568, p 3-5 and it's just not there, it does straight from schedule B to Schedule K! TT form status says that 568 is ready and can be e-filed...

Compare it yourself to the PDF version on CA FTB:

https://www.ftb.ca.gov/forms/2022/2022-568.pdf

When will this be resolved? Anybody else have this issue?

CA Form 568 can't fill in line 5: Nonconsenting member's tax liability from Schedule T

Thank you for providing your token number.  In the course of digging into the issue, I discovered some steps that you can try.

  • As you go through the CA state return in the Income section, click Revisit beside the Business Profit or Loss Adjustment.
  • Click Edit beside your business name.
  • Click Done on the Asset Summary page.
  • On the next page that asks if your business is owned by a Single Member LLC, click Yes.
  • Click Continue on the next page.

Then, the next several screens are there for you to fill in details for Form 568.  The first screen should be the only one with missing information.  Scroll down the page until you see fields that are highlighted which need your input (they are pink on Windows versions of the program).  As you scroll through the page, take a look at line 7.  It should be filled in with $800.

Click Continue to progress through the rest of these screens.  Then check the Forms Mode version of Form 568 to see if it looks correct.

If this does not work for you, please respond back.

So I called in but the expert can't see my screen since you can't screen share forms view due to private info being on it.

I realized after comparing with TT 2021 that I don't need to fill in line 5 due to being SMLLC. Filling in the same fields populated line 7 (which should be a sum of prior fields) in 2021 but not in 2022 see screenshot:

Seems like a bug, how can we get this fixed?

EDIT: it def seems to be a bug in the form perhaps when it is a SMLLC? I tried it on windows and have the same issue:

* can't fill in line 5

* w/o line 5 line 7 doesn't calculate

CA Form 568 can't fill in line 5: Nonconsenting member's tax liability from Schedule T

We are trying to dig deeper into the issue you described where the CA Form 568 line 7 was not being calculated without having an input from line 5.  Can you please let us know if you are still experiencing this issue?

If so, it would be extremely helpful to have a diagnostic copy of your tax file to investigate this further.  The diagnostic file will not contain personally identifiable information, only numbers related to your tax forms.  If you would like to provide us with the diagnostic file, follow the instructions below and post the token number along with which version of TurboTax you are using in a follow-up thread.

Use these steps if you are using TurboTax Online:

  • Sign in to your account and be sure you are in your tax return.
  • Select Tax Tools in the menu to the left.
  • Select Tools.
  • Select Share my file with agent.
  • A pop-up message will appear, select OK to send the sanitized diagnostic copy to us.
  • Post the token number here.

If you are using a CD/downloaded version of TurboTax, use these steps:

  • Select Online at the top of the screen.
  • Select Send Tax File to Agent.
  • Click OK.
  • Post the token number here.
