According to the Pennsylvania income tax preparation guide, PA schedule W-2S has been eliminated for the 2020 income tax returns. You would need to attach a copy of your W-2 forms to your state tax returns if you mailed them in.
Thank You for the quick reply. That helped.... Turbo Tax should have something in their program, that state this issue. Pennsylvania tax change.
With PA SCH W-2s no longer being used does that mean we do not need to send the 1099R's since they are not taxable income? I know the W2's should be sent but wondered about the 1099R's.
The instructions for arranging the documents when filing by mail state that there should be a list of other taxable compensation. You should include a 1099-R if it is taxable to PA.
It would be taxable if it were an early distribution.
What do you do if you efile but need to send in w-2 with pa40 because box 5 is bigger than box 16.
I would print the state and mail to PA along with the required document.
