I was residing in California at the beginning of the year and in Sept I moved to Georgia.
In TurboTax, in the personal info I have my State of Residence" as GA and that I "...lived in another state in 2022". My "previous state" was CA, the "date you became resident of your new state" was 9/1/2022.
(I understand "new state" as a refence to where I moved TO, which is GA. Is that right?)
When I go to the "State Taxes" section, it lists me with: Georgia as part year resident and California as part year resident. (I decided to use the one state report for CA since that was where I was the longest, and have not purchased the GA one yet.) When I click on EDIT for California, I run into a problem:
The residency information page shows that "Part-year Resident Moved into CA" is checked and dimmed,
such that I can not change it. Below that it has "Date you moved into California" as 09/01/2022
and no way to change that.
But I did NOT move INTO CA then, I moved OUT of CA then. How do I get that info changed? Where is is set? I've tried in the "Personal Info" at the beginning again, but it doesn't change the state settings anymore. What do I do?
