PA EV Rebate - Double Count

I live in Pennsylvania and filing only a PA Tax return (no other states, but in addition to Federal).  For some reason, the $2k PA EV Rebate is being counted twice, that is $4k of income on the state return.  One source of income is the 1099-MISC from PA and the other from the TurboTax EV State Rebate question (asked in the Federal section).  If I delete the 1099-MISC, it reappears as part of the review process.  If I attempt to change the answer for the State Rebate question (within the state return), it errors out and doesn't allow one to continue the return.  Looking for any guidance.  Thanks.

The review error you are getting is for a compensation code.

If you go directly to your Forms mode (click on the upper right hand side button), click on the Gross Comp Wks in your PA return. Scroll to the 1099-MISC section. Under O, enter EV REBATE. Please also keep the $2,000 in excess reimbursements checked off so it is excluded and not double counted. This should clear the error.

If you'd like, we can look at your return and see exactly what you see to  help come to a resolution. The return will be scrubbed and won't include any of your personal details.

If you're using TurboTax Online:

Once you're logged in to your account,

- on the left hand panel, click on Tax Tools and then choose Tools

- on the pop up window, select Share my file with Agent

- you'll see a message saying you'll give us a copy of your tax return. Your personal information will be changed so we can't see any private information.

- click okay and you'll get another message with a token

If you're using TurboTax Desktop:

  • Click on Online in the top menu of TurboTax Desktop for Windows
  • Select 'Send Tax File to Agent'
  • Write down or send an image of your token number and state then place in this issue.
  • We can then review your exact scenario for a solution

Please reply to this message with your token so that we can further assist you. Let us know all other states, if any, that are included on the return.

My token is 177523244-29777593.  The Pennsylvania return is the problem.  Please review and advise.  Thanks.

Thank you for sending over your token.

It looks like the issue is stemming from this section of the Gross Comp worksheet on the PA return. I haven't been able to trace it back to where it was entered, but it can be deleted directly on this page.

Good day.  I have tried that again, and on review it requires an entry.  Any additional thoughts?  Thanks.Screenshot 2025-03-14 095236.png
