I have reloaded turbotax 2015 on my new laptop. . wnat to get the NY & NJ states on with re-purchasing

One of the states (your choice) can be downloaded for free just as before.

If you still have access to your 'other' computer you can copy the state files from the 'other' computer to your new laptop.

If you are not familiar with the proper use of the Windows Explorer utility, or its Copy/Paste function, DO NOT proceed with this process.   CAVEAT EMPTOR

Using the Windows Explorer utility, navigate to:

1. C:\Program Files (86)\TurboTax\{product} 2015\Forms\xxi_15    where: xx = 2-character abbrev for the state you want to move
2. Copy the entire folder (xxi_15) from the 'other' computer to a flashdrive or CD
3. Copy the folder from the flashdrive or CD (xxi_15) to the same location on your new laptop
4. Launch TTax and the second state should show up.
5. Don't forget to run TTax Update to ensure both states and the Federal programs are updated.

 (If any of the steps above seem vague or incomplete, DO NOT ATTEMPT this process until you can get someone more knowledgeable to assist.)
