I have used TurboTax for years to file my taxes. This year, on the SD 100, the tool/form showed I over paid, and received a refund (essentially paying $0 school tax). I received an assessment from the State auditor, and now am told I need to pay back over $700. How is this possible, when I am trusting TurboTax to file a proper return?

There was a change in the form SD100 for 2023. As such, there was a change in the TurboTax interview. One possible explanation is that you accidently answered that you did not live in the School District for which withholding was done.
