I'm helping my daughter with her taxes. She's a college student and resident of Texas, but worked for 12 weeks in Connecticut for a summer job. I know she needs to pay Nonresident taxes in Connecticut for her earnings there. TurboTax is using her total AGI (uses AGI from 1040 line 11), then says it's more than her CT earnings (because it's the sum of the CT earnings and TX earnings). And it looks like she's being taxed on the total earnings for the year.
I thought she was only supposed to be taxed on what was earned in CT by CT? I did indicate what was earned in CT and what was earned in TX when asked. Is there something I'm doing wrong here?
At the top is says (2024 resident status: Y Nonresident: N Part-Year Resident)
