TurboTax seems to think I need to file Ohio State Taxes. I did not live in, own property, or make money in the state of Ohio during any of 2016. Do I still need to file for Ohio?

I changed jobs and moved to a new state in Fall of 2015. As a result, last year I had to file taxes in two different states. However, I can't think of any reason I would need to file for Ohio again this year. Is TurboTax mistaken in suggesting I need to file? Or am I overlooking something?

It sounds like you don't have to file an Ohio return. Check your Personal Info section to make sure that it doesn't show that you had income from OH. Also, make sure that none of your W-2s or other documents indicate that any income came from Ohio.

Otherwise, there is no reason to file in Ohio since you are no longer an Ohio resident and you earned no income there.

I did receive a 1099-G form from Ohio saying that I had made an overpayment during 2016 (for the 2015 year). I've indicated that information on my Federal Tax filing. But I don't believe that this form would require me to file for Ohio this year. Am I mistaken?

No, you aren't. That's only taxable at the federal level.
