Need to file a state return for Ohio. When I completed the return it now shows that I am filing for both Ohio and Illinois. My return has nothing to do with Illinois.

I have previously done my son's return for Illinois.  I am now doing a return for Ohio for my daughter in law.  Her return has nothing to do with Illinois.  Do not want to file for Illinois for her.

I'm very sorry for the inconvenience you can delete the Illinois state return by following instructions below:

1. Open your return in TurboTax.
2. Switch to Forms Mode by clicking the Forms icon in the upper right corner of your screen.
3. From the File menu, choose Remove State Return.
   • Tip: Despite the name, this command doesn't remove the state program, just the info in your state return.
4. Select the state return you want to delete, and then click Remove. Click Yes to confirm.
