I filed and e-filed my federal return, but state tax forms weren't quite ready so I had to wait to finish.
I received email 4 days ago that all the state forms are ready, so I went back to pick up where I left off. Now the amount of my Federal estimated refund money (I don't know why this even shows up when filing is complete) decreased, but more importantly, when I try to wrap up my state tax forms, it says that federal and/or state forms are still not ready. Are there additional forms that are still pending to be ready for NC, or is this a glitch?

D-400 still isn't ready for e-filing, and won't be until 2/24/22. The TT e-mail should have made it clear that the forms were now ready for mail-in filing only.
That makes sense. Thank you!
Does anyone have any idea why my Federal Tax refund estimate amount changed from when I e-filed it a week ago? Should I even worry about it? I'm just afraid of receiving the refund (original amount) and then having to pay back the IRS due to some adjustment in calculation that was not available at the time I e-filed.
The program automatically updates with form and tax law changes. You should not have been able to file with forms not ready. The meter may have reset and not be affecting your forms at all Please compare what is showing now to your original to determine the changes. Indeed, if there are true changes, the IRS could adjust your return. Sometimes, people go back into their return and things are changed without meaning to-- which will throw things off.
