NC Nonresident form isn't populating with any info

I'm having to file an amended return due to receiving a Schedule K-1. I need to add estate beneficiary income to federal and file a nonresident tax return to NC reporting the beneficiary income from NC. I purchased the additional state (NC), but it isn't populating anything from my already filled out federal tax form. Is that because this is an amended tax return? 

I see the first screen for NC (showing all zeros for income), then hit continue. There's nothing on the screen, so I don't know what question it's asking. Nothing is imported onto the NC forms, if I go there directly.

Please clarify, "There's nothing on the screen", do you mean the screen is blank?

All I was seeing were the buttons — yes, no, continue. 

I was able to fix this by turning off the toggle on earned income in a different state in personal info. Not sure why that did anything
