I live in NC and have rental property in MD. When it asks if I made money in a different state I say yes and it has me fill out a non resident MD Form. This Form never asks me to list my rental income. Why am I filling out this form?

You must first enter your rental income on your federal return and it will flow through to your state return. If you had a total loss on your rental property in 2019, then you are not required to file a Maryland state return.
