I moved from FL to RI in June 2020. so do I have to pay state tax in RI this year

Yes, you will have to pay Rhode Island tax on the income you earned while living in Rhode Island. You will need to file a part-year resident Rhode Island tax return. Be sure, in the state tax section of the program, that you only allocate the income you earned in RI, to RI.
