Lived in more than one state and earned income in both states

I know there have been multiple questions asked on this topic but I can't seem to make the answers work for me.  I owned a residence and worked in AL for part of the year.  On 11/16/20 I started a new job in GA but did not settle on my new home in GA until 12/16/20.  I sold my AL residence on 12/28/20.

So, how would I best file my state income tax returns with TurboTax Premier download?

Another key question:  Do I claim the income earned for the job in GA when my residence was still in AL as GA income or AL income?

Since you lived in two states for part of the year, you will file two part-year resident returns.

The income that you earned in GA while living in AL will actually be taxed by both states.  It will be taxed in GA because it was earned there and taxed by AL because you were a resident of AL when the income was earned.  However, you will be able to claim a credit for taxes paid to another state on the AL return for the income that was also taxed by GA.
