I do not have a K1 yet I can't file because it needs an updated K1

You have two options.  You can file now without the K1 and file an amended return once you receive your updated K1.  Or you can wait until you receive your updated K1.

I am not getting a K1 this year.  I don't see a way on the State return to get rid of this.  What do I need to do to be able to file??????

Have you deleted the K-1 on your federal return.  If not you can open it and in the beginning it will ask if this is a final K-1.  Select yes and leave the rest of it blank.  This will not get rid of it this year, but it will correctly close it for next year.

This is important because if there are any passive losses they may not flow through unless it is properly closed.

I started my taxes over and made sure it was deleted on the federal but for some reason the California return brings it back up and I can't get rid of it.  Any suggestions?

If you're in the online version go to the state and delete it, then add it back again.
