Yes. The Michigan personal exemptions will automatically be added to the state return. The amount for 2024 starts at $5,600 for the personal exemption and for each dependent. There may also be an additional exemption that you or someone in your household qualifies for. 

Per the State of Michigan, the additional exemptions are:

• $5,600 if you were the parent of a stillborn child delivered in 2024 and have a certificate of still...
• $3,300 for each person or dependent in the household who is deaf, paraplegic, quadriplegic, hemipleg...
• $500 for each disabled veteran in the household.
