After successfully completing the review section of TurboTax, and then paying for Federal and State TurboTax, I am getting the following error when attempting to e-file:
"Information Worksheet: Form 1099-Q is still being worked on. Please return after it has been updated." TurboTax also then shows the Information Worksheet for my state taxes (Oregon), and I cannot e-file (or Mail). I've entered the 1099-Q correctly as far as I can tell, and the TurboTax help chatbot says that this type of error is a problem with the TurboTax software.
Has anyone else had this specific error and thoughts on how to proceed without having to continously go through the filing workflow before seeing if this error has been corrected?

Hi there,
I just spoke to a Turbo Tax representative. The issue is not with the software, but the state of Oregon being behind in updating their information for Turbo Tax. She told me it would likely be updated in the next week or two or potentially sooner.
I am having the same error when trying to do my daughters taxes - exactly as you described. I'm also in Oregon. I've been trying to file for a week. My tax return with a 1099Q included went through fine.
Would be nice if it gave an estimated date it will be fixed.
Here's a post I found: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/1099-q-issues/00/3582985
It sounds like I should just delete the 1099Q
Removing the 1099-Q should have no effect on the rest of your tax return UNLESS you had withdrawals that were taxable because they were not for educational purposes. So if that is all that is holding up the return I would go ahead and remove it.
I have the same problem. Mine also pulls up the Oregon Information Worksheet and it has my name flagged. I cannot find anything wrong with any form, including the 1099-Q.
+1 on the same issue
In my case - I took the distribution from 529 to my account and paid the college fees of my daughter. 1099-Q has me as the recipient.
What is the solution to this problem ? Both online version and the TT Delux Desktop have the same problem.
+1 with same issue in Oregon
I am having the same issue. Were you able to find a way to delete this worksheet?
Can you provide steps to delete the worksheet? When the form is selected, there isn't an option to delete it. Advice?
i ended up clearing the entire return and redoing and not add the 1099-Q and 1098-T entries at all (per suggestion above) since its optional and i did not owe any taxes for the expenses based on the money coming out of 529.
When you're in TurboTax, click on the Help button and type in "delete 1099Q". It will give you instructions to delete it. Worked for me!
Same problem with Oregon Information Sheet.
And I cannot just leave off the forms, as I am taking the credit and will pay some tax on a small part of the 1099-Q amount.
How do we tell TurboTax to fix this issue. Just deleting and ignoring is not an option.
Seriously, can Turbo Tax address this issue. Just having a 1099-Q on my return creates this issue. Fix the problem already!
+1 Just hate it when they break things that were fine in prior years. While 1099-Q income fully offset by qualified expenses will not be included in the actual return, it is still very useful for historic reference to see those calculations in the worksheets. The EasyStep interview covering this area has completely changed for the worse from 2024 to 2025.
Same issue...also an Oregon filer.
Just pulled in the latest updates as of Feb 19... still not fixed.
