I'm a licensed mental health professional in CT as well as VA and the Carolina's. I have a LLC in CT. I provide tele-mental health from my business off in CT and I'm considering expanding my tele-mental health business to VA and/or the Carolina's but I don't know if I have to register my business as a foreign entity. I also don't know if I have to pay state income taxes to VA or the Carolina's if I expand and provide tele-mental health services. Any insight or answers would be helpful. Thank you.

That is a complicated question and gets into licensing as well as tax issues. This might give you some background.
Thanks. The licensing isn't an issue. I am licensed in all 3 states and the licensing boards have given me the green light.
You do not have to pay state income tax to VA, NC, or SC ( or file tax returns), if you do not physically work in those states.
