Income from 2 states. resident or non-resident state first?

We recommend you prepare the non-resident state first.  This ensures that the resident state will properly calculate any credit for taxes paid to the other state, that you may be eligible for.  This prevents you from being double-taxed on the same income.

Income from 2 states. resident or non-resident state first?

I prepared the resident state first and now the nonresident credit is not covering the resident tax amount.  Is this normal?  I cannot seem to delete my resident state or even start it over - help please!

I deleted the resident state, completed the non resident and re-did the resident. The tax credit for what I paid never came over to the resident. Is there something that has to be filled out to alert it?
