If a 529 Plan was set up in Illinois but the company issuing the 1099Q is in Indiana, which state sponsors the Qualified Ed Program?
Is there some kind of multiple choice to help us with this "sponsor" question: A) the state where the 529 was initiated, B) the state where the student's college is located, or C) The state of the home office of the company sending the 1099Q? In next years version of turbo tax, can you add an example question. Your example scenarios are extremely helpful and the answer to this question isn't very intuitive, making it hard to know how to answer it.

If the plan was set up as an Illinois 529 Plan [Bright Start, Bright Directions or College Illinois!] select IL as the sponsoring state.
