I moved from Wisconsin to Missouri, I paid tax in Wisconsin until Sep, what should I fill in double taxed wages? If I don't fill any thing I am not getting credit in MO.

If I don't fill any thing I am not getting credit in MO and I've been asked to pay $8K as state tax. My question is, If I have already paid around 8K taxes in WI, what should I fill my wages from WI in "were you double taxed" field? Am I actually double taxed?

Yes, you will want to enter the income earned in WI in that field.  You see a credit for taxes paid to another state.  This credit is created to keep you from being fully taxed by each state.  The taxes are adjusted when the credit is applied, so you are not double-taxed.

If you were a resident of two different states during the tax year, you'll normally file part-year returns in both states. You need to make sure you've set up your personal information correctly in the Personal Info Section.

How do I file a part-year state return?

You'll have to allocate your income between the two states. TurboTax will either ask you to separate the income you earned or to verify the allocation amounts we already calculated for you.

For more information on how to allocate your wages, please check : How do I allocate (split) income for a part-year state return?

Thanks for your swift response.

I have done exactly as you mentioned. But when I come to the second state filing, (i.e. MO - where I live currently) it is asking if I was double taxed and I need to enter my wages. If I do, I get credit, If i don't, I don't get credit.

My question again, am I double taxed? should I enter my wages from WI in that field?
