I moved from California to New York, I still have my California driver license and worked 2 weeks in New York, do I file for residency in both states or just California?

You are a part-year resident for both CA and NY.

Whether you are required a tax return in either state depends on your income from each state, and where you lived when you earned that income.

The filing requirements for California part-year residents can be found at this website.

The filing requirements for New York part-year residents can be found at this website.

If in doubt, you can prepare the state returns in TurboTax and delete them before you pay the TurboTax fees if the your income is less than the thresholds for filing.
