I live in Florida and have domicile residency documents for FL. I worked for a week for an assignment and stayed in Hawaii in 2025 for less then 3 weeks. Hawaii tax was taken out of my checks. Do I need to file Hawaii state tax return for 2025?
Thank you..

Q. Do I need to file Hawaii state tax return for 2025?
A. Yes, no matter how much the income was. There is no minimum amount for non residents.
You report all your income on your resident state return, including the income earned in the other state. Your home state calculates tax on all your income, but gives you a credit, or partial credit, for tax you paid to the other state.
When you live in a state without an income tax (e.g. Florida), there will be no credit, since there was no FL tax. Living in a state without an income tax does not get you out of paying state tax on that income, to the other state.
The amount of HI tax withheld is likely to be incorrect. You may get a refund.
