I have to prepare a NYC 202s with my federal and NYS tax forms. How do I access the NYC 202s form on turbotax?

I have already completed both the federal and NYS tax forms but the NYC form does not automatically load. How do I access the form.

Since you are using the desktop version of TurboTax the easiest way to activate form NYC202S is through Forms Mode. Please follow these steps:

1. Go into Forms Mode by clicking on the Forms icon in the top right of the blue bar.  
2. In the Forms in My Return list on the left, in the New York Individual section, double-click on Info Worksheet.   The form will appear to the right of the Forms in My Return list.
3. On the NY State Information Worksheet,  scroll down to Part V - NYC Unincorporated Business Tax Return.
4. Mark the box on line 1a for either Taxpayer or Spouse.  
   
5. Click the QuickZoom box to go to Form NYC-202S.  You can complete the form on the screen.
6. If you wish to print the form, click the Print box at the bottom of the screen.

I've used both the online and stand-alone TurboTax programs, and they both have the same problem with the NYC-202S - it isn't automatically fully populated from the 1040 or NYS return, in spite of the taxpayer having already identified the business as being in NYC. This is the case whether it's the first year, or subsequent years for the NYC unincorporated business.

I have the same experience which represents a major failure of TurboTax. One of its main attractions was not having to re-enter data in forms. And once the double taxes NYC Unincorporated Business Tax is entered, the question is whether the program will enter it retroactively into federal Schedule C.
