I earned money in TN but was never a TN resident. My state return is making me enter a legal residential address in TN and I can't opt out. How can I opt out?

You don't need to file a TN return at all if the only income you had was earned income. Tennessee only taxes investment income.
Tennessee residents, partnerships and fiduciaries must file a state tax return if their interest and dividend income is more than $1,250 for an individual or $2,500 for a married couple filing jointly.
