I am ready to file my federal return but my state taxes were incorrect on my W2 what should I do, submit my federal and get an extension for my state?

I lived in Tennessee year but moved from Ohio my employer took Ohio taxes out (a address mistake) they are redoing my W2 but not before tax time

File extensions on both federal and state. Assuming you itemized deductions, your incorrect state taxes in W2 will change your federal liability. That's why I recommend extensions on both so that you can do both correctly once you get the W-2C (corrected W-2).
